Presented by you know though John Murphy alongside Steve tasker former bills' special team from the had a felons CBS filling in for Donald Jones of joining us right now on the subway fresh take mine. As we said at the top of the show we are in the money season in the NFL and who better to talk about it in our next guest is the business of sports expert. For ESPN and espn.com. Happy to have Andrew Brandt one of our favorite guests on the show the standards John Murphy Steve Kessler we thank you very much for joining us today. Always a pleasure done Steven if you guys know that. The business for the NFL never closed down especially now that this season's over. Yeah out how critical many I know what's it all happens in autumn a former player and it all seems that between the lines for guys like me the how. If you can look back and in your career cover in the NFL what is the biggest. Business event. You can think of that happened to a team that turned them from a team that was just like an also ran into a team that was. Perennial powerhouse and what kind of business things that happen in this time a year. Cheney can change teams that dress we can you think of any specific instances where you say wow this team. During March April may. Everything changed a meek and obviously there's got to be some ownership changes that the did that. Yet there is one tough one that stands out and that he said. You know this really the time of year these months are when teams are architect of massage managed. And as a former agent a former front office guys analyzing isn't football all the same. You're much busier now that you are during the season. Defeat you kind of turn it over to the coaches and players and they take it from there Garrity on to the next season the next offseason. But if the only thing that really stand out to needy is a free agent signing. By the Denver Broncos a few years ago of player who would cut yet says that it. Named Peyton Manning because you don't get players on the market like that. You just don't in fact when I was at the Packers and create and he will always looked up and said. Or wire those guys on the MarketWatch wise and thirteen I think what's wrong with what's the problem. But Peyton Manning the neck injuries they had they had a path to Andrew Luck and they cut out. So this was an all pro quarterback on the market which never happens ever. So that was a defining moment for the business of football he had twelve teams after him. He inherited to Arizona and Denver and maybe a couple others may be used in May be Miami but obviously I'm with the Broncos meant. Changed the face of that franchise and put them at a different level. I think one of the things you think about what happened to the Broncos after that. He was there for four seasons. They went to two Super Bowls and should have gone to a third Super Bowl. But for the miss played deep pass against the ravens is Super Bowl 47 with a guy could in overtime when Joseph Flacco hits the unbelievably. It's improbable play that took the Broncos out of a chance what's good in the championship game I think in that Nazis. But that's a that's a point where. You think they signed paid me any and all of a sudden the Broncos went to two consumables and had a shot and probably thought they're gonna go to three out of four years they had him on the roster. Yeah I know it's so interstate. Close friends with Tom Condon represents Peyton and Eli and through trees and so many quarterbacks and this story about that contract. Like hey you know we have the most leverage in the history of football. We have twelve teams and your freeagent. And the opening offer by the Broncos was more than what Payton signed for. Because hey Mike listen coming off these injuries I just wanna be fair I don't you know what's pretty what's the top guy miss it. And that's what they kind of got and it's just amazing that. He had just want to elect some opportunity from an eight to ten point of view. To who knows what get a fully guaranteed contract get 2690. To thirty million a year and and Peyton got we got about 99 here which was the highest at that time. Edgar Allan you know I thought you might when Steve actually the initial question. I thought you might go to assigning that predates I believe your timing Green Bay when when the Packers signed Reggie White and I know we're fairly early on in free agency. That seemed to change the certainly the court today if Richards seemed like rebates never looked back after that come to you view that is. Like a watershed signing of the history free agency. Yeah when you say beginning stages it was the he opening stage I think within minutes of the first free agency. In football that was part of the deal. The nameplate was Reggie why then of course he got out there. And and that's thanks in Green Bay which is a mom monumental for the city in the team because now. African Americans felt more comfortable it became more of a place on the map beyond. The Vince Lombardi years. And it take you know in my discussions trying to sign free agents they're during my time I would always bring up Reggie. The biggest one night time it was that yes detectors to sense freeagent. It was Charles Woodson who again it was a very tough sell all. Because you know it didn't have the best reputation. For. Diversity and other things so it was tough self that we finally got Charlton all took a month. I'm with Andrew Brandt ESPN. In business analyst joining us to talk about the free agency. Now we're talking earlier this week on the show and rebut the New York show last year without talking about the value created the guys who come. After the persuade somebody brought up a good point though that the real value is in your own guys aside and and before they hit the market and that's where you really you can make some good deals and save yourself a ton of money in other words get through before they hit the market views do you think about that much thought about that. I do and you know my history Green Bay that was the key for us that just mentioned free agency and some problems we have with kind of geographic desire ability and it was really important to get sick guys not move right before credence to that years before. A lot come off to make sure that they never even get dismissed. Going elsewhere to make sure there. On board and that's sort of the draft and development county where you see you guys three years in his career. Like yeah we wanna make a bet here and we'll pay. Not freeagent prices the world take good pride here to keep them on board. That's what I think a lot of the good teams do it again. Players right now they're going to be free agents in two weeks they have a tunnel leverage because. The team doesn't know what's behind door number two. The agents are kind of seeking that out in any way they can. And it's a real great leverage point for players right now I think some of the best deals player lies happens. With their own teams right before freeagent. Yeah I I agree with that I think one of the things your. Really write the good teams have the ability not and like you said they'd bet on the right guys early in their contract. Knowing that they're gonna need them later on it and a lot of teams just. They don't know we know for they don't. Either trust their personnel enough or their evaluation of that takes Tibet on the right guys early and often those contracts before they've even. Reach their full potential to get him tied up long term they just don't. Aid they don't wanna take that chance even at even though they drafted a guy and I think that's one of the things that gets lost in all of this. You know freeagent go someplace and plays extremely well why didn't she knows that before you let them go and what are your thoughts on that and there and your ability to pick the right guys on your roster decide. Yeah listen I mean I don't know the bills. Probably get this criticism much but certainly my timing Green Day and even being asked about the Packers sentences why aren't they more active in free agency and you know I always looked at free agency and paying a price for not drafting well I mentioned going after Charles Woodson. We had failed and missed about a couple quarterbacks of the year is the year two years before that. And that was our prices we have to go get a freeagent. The team to draft well lock up their players early they don't need to go spend a lot free agency. And as you mentioned John sort of the second tier I just think. No there is a lot of rush on March 9 this year that it's time the guys right away and that's what I call kind of this stupid money phase where. Teams get emotional and they wanna get guy right away but you look and see what doubt there's 2346. Days. And then you do you find part. The patriots are great it is the Packers do last year I injured cook and you find these guys out there. Per decent prices that you're not and the retail you pay the first they've created. Frontline within Andrew Brandt the ESPN business analysts and contributed to MM QB got SI dot com let's get right to Tyrod Taylor Andrew I wonder. Do you have any thoughts at all on the the bills option here the fact that they do have some flexibility moving into the next week or two with Tyrod and it may be what the best deal might be and how realistic would it be. For the bills to pick up that option and keep Tyrod around. Yeah you know again I'm not the best gotta analyze talented you know I'm on the business but you know to me. He seems like a viable player in a leave that everyone knows has that dearth of quality of the position we all knows the superstars or even though. Kind of the second tier level guys but then it's kind of a morass quarterbacks and teams scratch and claw and try to get by. Without excellence at the position. And bill's fans have their own opinions about how good a player Tyrod is compared to other players. But you know having looked at the contract. Again I had questions last year why do it why do it from his side. Which is basically a one year deal and they could do what they want and at this time now. And why do it from their site give them a million dollars of free money. But you can sort of look at it right now and go you know I think that makes sense it's. Not the greatest player deal it's not the worst team deal. It makes some sense to do it assuming some McDermott and everyone there is on board with him as a player. I just think this was a deal done with the decision point a year later. And decision points here and to me it doesn't look at a whack either way. There we enter we started this conversation with asking about going back in the past and looking at different things have really changed the landscape for. On at this time of year you you mentioned Peyton Manning signed with Denver giving them before your run of the shot and a couple three Super Bowls. What about this year what what do you think is the custom looked around the talk is on the cusp of happening in this freeagent marker in this business atmosphere here with relocation. With different stadium deals with head coaching changes or what have you do you see any thing. May be on that magnitude. Being on the docket to happen this offseason for any team in the league. Yeah I think generally what I'm covering off the field is these continue relocations and started a year ago with the rams being awarded LA and then of course. The option gates gave the raiders a year to join them which they finally took every bit of that year and decided to do and couldn't get it stadium deal done in San Diego. And I think there's a lot of hurt feelings and San Diego as there were in Saint Louis and now home following the raiders. Which. Seems to be falling apart a little bit in Vegas but I have a sneaking suspicion it will ratchet up again. To get a funding partner to bring the team in Vegas that probably won't get approved this year. Because they did lose the funding partner in Vegas but I wouldn't expect the raiders will be in Vegas at some point. So three teams in a span of one or two years I think relocating its a big deal for the NFL and what they've decided is that the at least with the two teams that have relocated. Whether fans come are not whether LA can support two teams let alone one. The brand the overall brand of the NFL does better with the team in Los Angeles. That it is with the team and ended sourcing Lewis. And the sponsorship monies that premiums seed money. The general money for the whole week sales. Is going to be tires so. Either business decision and it's a major story that the NFL is leaving these markets fine. Because they couldn't get public funding for stadiums which is really tough for fans because they're kind of caught in the crossfire. They wanna ask energy you have a recent posts on and MM QB Dennis I dot com about. The off all the people from a couple of weeks ago everybody's aware of the Terrell Owens snub you read about that what you also bring up Paul Tagliabue who. Somebody asked me before the vote. As I mentioned it was a guy what I would probably go and I would like you I guess I was surprise attack reboot is is still not in the pro football hall of me. Yeah because that served under him. Most of my career and I thought it was reason that there intelligent obviously lawyer very measured down to earth. Building consensus. And again people get labels and unfortunately because people don't see complexity. He gets labeled with all the events depicted in concussion early to denounce the nine the science of concussions. And I'm not sure exactly how we get that label because I saw him establish safety committees. I saw him. We sent our doctors to use summit that he was conducting about concussions and it was just getting on the radar. So yeah I do this and I get it he was the boss when Matt allegedly all happens in the NFL. But I never saw him kind of your people here in the science so. I was quite surprised about Tagliabue I would hope that would change over the years. And you've got to you said the label of Terrell Owens is a disrupt their puts the hoping processed on a slippery slope can you talk about that little. You have really slippery slope because. Teen you know these receivers all the dealers and where you can establish a line between the good and disrupt or. And what the production level you need outweighs the off field problems. Or the in locker room problems. Just seems to me is they're really slippery slope with he's a hall of Famer on the field you really gonna get involved in how he was treated. Players unlock remark how he treated players are worried draw the line on that we're gonna have Randy Moss next year. I remember when the Oakland Raiders are offering up Randy Moss for like a seventh round their neck. Is that gonna mean that he's kind of he's not gonna make it because he was the disrupt her out there and in Minnesota. So. This is a really slippery slope amino dealt back commit he has continued little selfish act. That we can exclude him in twenty years I mean I just don't get it with thrill. And guess what bothers me is. You know the electors is sort of anecdotal evidence I think for many of them we had Terrell loans here one year 2009. And I can tell you he was you know. All for one and one for all but he didn't disrupt the lock from here to any great extent from what I could see you know I was pretty close food at the time. I just like a lot of these voters is sort of a was that guy bad guy yeah I was a big guy you know sort of just passed around among the electors there. Yeah and I you know I heard from voters saying well it kicked off retrieved what. No he played for the niners a long time he played for the Eagles a long time kicked off I mean that's longer than most players are all these teams to begin with the it's just sending yet you know people go in with a certain set of mine has said of preconceptions in their mind and heart get rid of he died do you think going to get in I don't know the procedure for how many times they're brought up but I know I heard like Irvin was the third time and I don't know how it works that they'll eventually get in the bank. Yeah I think I'm pretty sure he's he's gonna get him but I don't and I think for for most people I'm just speaking for me people I've heard about it and talked to just break your. You Charley six pack fans like me. They don't have a problem with a player. Who pays a price for the kind of person he was. There should and they look a lot of people listen regular everyday I think there should be priced be paid for the kind of person you part of the people you work with the people you work for. And the people you perform its war in in the case of professional football the most people. Are really that upset. The Terrell Owens got held up because. They realize that. There were some baggage there they don't and while they may not be specifically to know specifically what those instances are most people are to that hot under the collar the white not in there but let's face it. The guy's a hall of fame talent yet his numbers his career. They're just not too many guys there may be what two guys that can even be in the conversation with him. At wide receivers to who the best of all time wasn't he can you know on the obviously Jerry Rice there's Cris Carter and his TERRELL OWENS is forced those numbers go. No question he had hall of fame type career. But I don't and and I think most people. Given the fact that has not been waiting to get in the hall of fame. Isn't it he was that bad guy let him wait for a couple years but no question is certain it in the future he's he should be enshrined in the in the whole thing. Yeah ideas he would mention Tagliabue lawyer I'm a lawyer and I guess maybe I think that way I just think about precedent and what I. What a Har precedent to figure out. If we're gonna take guys every year and figure out like John sitting anecdotal stories. Of them being jerks. I think it's a tough thing the way. Now if a guy has sort of three quarters of two rowand statistics. But was a great guy does he get in won't get to the kind of thing you get. Way while they they here's the thing and I don't I don't I get what you're saying about the lawyer thing but the problem is this Andrew. Every guy's different. And in the hall of fame every guy should be taken of his own merits and I think they do. Certainly they compare numbers. But those are the easy thing to do and I think every guy is a unique. I unique talent and unique career. Played for different teams. Then the guys you're comparing him to different atmosphere and the guy different errors in the guy you may be comparing him to but I think because every guy is so completely unique I don't think it's really that slippery of the slope to start saying hey this guy was such. A different kind of guy off the field. They asked to wait two years so why I'd that there's an bought the president thing doesn't really bother me. But I do see your your point and it's and it's of course is valid because. We're gonna work could go through this again and in his honor this is not a a one time thing so it'll beach and see how plays out hater for Lecce. You also in its own similar lines about Columbine invitations. Of Western New York native Chad Kelly does not get the invitation after initially being invited and of course. Joseph mex and from Oklahoma and you make a good point which I really. Articulated on the show a week or so we'll go about. These guys made terrible mistakes you know awful mistakes in their past. Why not give them an opportunity to go explain themselves in front of 32 NFL teams for the lead or for the national football scouting to preemptively. Knock them out of the box at the top minor I think does a disservice to both the players. And the teams in the teens you know somebody's gonna sign check earlier draft of some he's gonna sign Joseph Max overdraft. Yeah I mean this is this is what experience with the league team dynamic that we come up with policies. And beliefs are thinking in their ivory tower that might be a little harsh. I don't mean it that way but. Teams have to deal with it some day to day basis for it to make their own determinations and they're just kind of making it harder. Two interviews scalp these guys which they will mean Soviet genomics is pro day they'll be checked those pro day they'll interview check Kelly bill asking the questions. They would have asked them in Indianapolis. At some other location and if they're gonna do what they do. Again you can have your own feeling about character. About off the field incident you can have teams have to say there's no way in God's green earth. We're drafting Joseph mix in with that video. But other teams well. And that's just where we are point two frank Clark who's the topic but the Seahawks a couple of years ago had a crew incredibly disturbing on a domestic violence incidents. And on senator talked about we we vetted them but that he said you were the last tax structure on the board that's that's what these guys. I got to ask standard in you can speak to this maybe better than Mike has been my experience of traveling around recovering team all 32 teams around the league at one point the last two decades. They're all kind of the same. They're all very similar in a lot of respects but the role. There's 32 different teams run by 32 different gentleman who run a different kind of business pattern all the way down from the top of the bonds of you can speak to the fact that. Just liked it only takes one team one owner one franchise are you one market what do whatever you wanna call it to say give the guy shot. Mean how different. Coming you can looked from one into the other how different. Are these franchises from one another we all tend to lump them together but they're very different organize. Yeah they are and again I don't ascribe any. Personal judgment about it but you look at Greg Hardy a couple of years ago. Premium pass rusher without its history domestic violence. In high demand. But he had the cowboys and maybe I was hearing one or two other teams sniffing around. That was the state. You know that wasn't as statement because in the past that probably would've been different he would it has twenty teams that after. So maybe it is having an impact in May be Joseph mixed in this year. We'll have ten teams in play where years ago would have been morning. So we'll see what happens but like you said like I said it only takes one and when I was an agent. Weather guy had an injury and off field incidents. Had a ways two way of playing that some teams didn't like you know that was it it was only it only take one you don't need 32 teams like you just want. They under it's always interesting to talk with you we look forward to following you on on espn.com. And on ESPN and then. Peter king's website over the next few weeks is that business season. Takes hold with the NFL thank you very much for joining us this afternoon. Isn't Brandt is the ESPN a business analyst you can. Read his posts on. Monday Morning Quarterback MM QB depth SI dot com Andrew Brandt joining us on the subway fresh stick out like subway fresh in my talk about including Tyrod Taylor and we'll talk more about that when we return you can join us in 030550. The number or toll free 1888550. To 550. Steve tasker here sitting in for Donald Jones John Murphy show from one bills drive on Buffalo Bills tree. I'm Buffalo Bills sports update. I brought you might yankees it seems New York's artisan cheese. The update from one bills drive where is quiet around the Buffalo Bills but news around the National Football League the whole thing game is set for a next year at the built the NFL announcing today that it will be the Dallas Cowboys in the Arizona Cardinals in the hall of fame game and and Ohio on August 3 this year wolf the cowboys and Arizona have. Players don't in the pro football thing Kurt Warner from the cardinals and horse owner Jerry Jones of the Dallas Cowboys cowboys cardinals and a golfing game. On August 3 this year NFL scouting combine coming up next week we'll be there. And one of the top quarterback prospects which forbids you will be there as well he could be the first quarterback selected in the upcoming draft that he says he will. Participate in the passing drills at camp. Is there everything except the bench press. Clemson star John Watson has said he will throw in Texas Tech quarterback. At home we'll do everything also except the bench for a quarterback Colin cavern like at a meeting yesterday with the 49ers new management GM John Lynch. And head coach Kyle Shanahan which did not offer specifics of the discussion but said it was a really positive discussion yesterday with your quarterback. Ed Garvey the lawyer led the NFL players association threw strikes. In 1974 in 1982. Has died at the age of 76. He was a players union council executive director from 1971 through 1983. College basketball saint Bonaventure won in Philadelphia over saint Joe's last night. 8377. The bodies now seventeen to ten overall nine and six in the age and that Mobley had 31 points and pulled down ten rebounds. And the big upset in Syracuse last night the orange upset number ten duke 7875. And a three pointer at the buzzer from Syracuse guard John gill. And the NBA trade deadline coming up just about an hour and a half from now teams have until then to complete any final transactions. Before the stretch run. Of the season and edit your sports update. John Murphy show presented by no go we've got Steve tasker sitting in for Donald Jones with a today we want to resume the discussion you hopefully just heard from. Andrew Brandt the ESPN business analysts about them. Some of the aspects of Tyrod Taylor's contract and that's our Twitter poll question we wanna get your input on that you can memories of the snow to think about this question is well. But Tyrod Taylor is in a money decision essentially is what we're asking. And put a poll showed Taylor's kept it affect the bills quarterback decision that more than 900 votes cast so far. And should it be a money decision is what we're asking is first narrative so far with 900 votes tallied up. On Twitter. The majority or at least the pro vote plurality. 39% of you say no. The cap it should not affect the decision 32% say money always matters 29% say yes the camp it should affect that decision. Let's don't you think about that 8030550. The number told free from outside buffalo 1888. By fifty. To fight fifty hum. Yet Edgar Brandt right at the outset there's seeks you know he's not a quarterback to value waiter is not there to evaluate talent but I I did get the sense for him that he thought the contract. Worked for both Tyrod and for the Buffalo Bills which. Again this idea that the bills are somehow hamstrung by this I think is. I think that narrative is false this is an opportunity you have to essentially. What they did last August was defer the ultimate decision on Tyrod Taylor until this year and you know that at all for me I. My. Opinions continues to be. I still think. Knew that the cap hit they'll take. What it does is just spreads that 27 point five million over two years and if they take if they pick up that. Contractor just committing to Tyrod for two years of that contract. I don't think that's a big commitment at all I think he'd proven that it and I and you know sort of feedback we're getting on Twitter you know they think well gosh he never and he didn't beat a team with a winning record this season. He only led the league in rushing from the quarterback position because he led the league in attempts. They're both those things are actually true and and with that comes as some negatives and some positives. Your team didn't turn the football over. And Tyrod as a guy who keeps your team on will feel a lot when he converts first downs either with his legs or or with his arm. No question he's got some shortcomings but I think for a guy who's not being paid like in the league quarterback or even your not taken an elite quarterback salary hit. I think he's well worth the investment that you can put into more over the next two years now committing to two years. And maybe there is some some something to be said for that. But by the same token and the options the bills have to go to or. Come with way more question marks. Then Tyrod comes with problems so I think I think he's no question I think he's the best option for those going for it does. And again opinion seems split at least on Twitter jets in Toronto tweets in his cap hit Tyrod is minimal. Fifteen million for a mid level quarterback it's OK considering Cutler was getting twenty million plus great Jiten and tweets and you don't pay or rewarded quarterback that kind of money for going seven and eight Cottam. It was made on both sides well I gotta get to get put in context yet seventeen point five million is a big number for. You mean everybody listening to us. But it's an businesses in FL it's not. Is it it's a good number it's not a huge number and you can certainly find enough my in my opinion. You can find enough money your can happen in your in your roster to help. That quarterback that were talking about. Play his best football and help the team in the way he did last year they scored enough points to win football games. They couldn't stop and of people win those games they should one and your guy didn't turn the football over Gaby enough tents and put points on the board. I don't know what else you want it is certainly. When you talk about wins and losses the quarterback is at the top of the list the reasons why. But I think we look at this. Team. And what has happened over the past six months but. I think Tyrod is part of the solution not part of the problem. Here's callers so to think 8030550. The number outside buffalo troll free 1888550. To 550. Maybe if Europe Madden player you look forward haven't Tyrod Taylor on your team by this Sunday the men's seventeenth. NFL clubs series comes to buffalo comes that 716 food and sport in downtown buffalo as the bills host the bills met seventeen clubs series championship. Eight NFL teams hosting championship events in the era home cities including the Buffalo Bills. The niners and chiefs jaguars patriots he talked Steelers and vikings but 2000 Madden gamers have competed online over the last six weeks in the preliminary rounds. Then they advanced to the championship round which is this Sunday noon to 7 PM at 716 food and sport. Be the and see the master of ceremonies or what we're told should be pretty interest yet backed up I'm headed over there. Saturdays and. To set up and get rehearse for it and get you ready for disease these events are bigamy you can tell but if that for the OK as you can tell some of that the seas are seeing now there's a lot of people to show up to these gaming events. And they're pretty exciting. What happens is with a police thousands of guys that are. You know competing online to get to this point. It's an industry that is growing rapidly in the United States much you know and I I I kind of equated to off the top my head a little bit more like poker on television. We get guys where you can say OK I get you know I can see in Agassi myself participating in and certainly. By doing so. You can they haven't vested interest in how the game goes so it's it's a big industry that's growing very rapidly. And it's not it's a lot of fun I'm I'm I'm excited to be part of it. Those watching ensemble cast of video you're seeing is from the vikings event where a couple of gamers compete with that you could see from a mall set up there. With the spectators watching the admission is free to watch a tournament alive on 716 is 38 foot video screen. Again you're right I mean they're spectators to watch poker being played read these it's yet. And it's funny too because it as you watch this on this final cast you'll watch what happens if one guy gets a good team room it's bad when you play. Against each other with the same team Europe they're off in the team's office plays against their own defense so you play against each other will. With and they it's completely level playing field and only your skills make the difference 101000 dollar prize pool that people are gonna what money. I told about this they have a they're setting a franchise is now in Dallas the play NBA you know with the NBA men game this is Gloria wave of the future this is where and. I you can tell like you and you can bet that. That they've PSE put in the sports entertainment would have and an idea of whether they want to acquire franchise or start a league that kind of thing and I don't know how those teams would be set up and there's franchise to be had which means. You have gamers on your team. And you pay him to be gamers and they go out to tournaments like this in game trying to get in the finals and it promote your franchise and make your franchise a winning franchise that kind of thing so it's. It's an interesting business model that that is fun for. Professional football is a great analyst on radio with you every week on the on the bills broadcast. And I know why they had wanted him to be part of that organization. And I talked to about it he's he is a game window because I would do this for fifty years so my game a window he does but there's still work and he'd do this does not a lifetime. Commitment that he had too but I'm telling what they got a good guy and they got Lebanese. When he talked to him about it it didn't take him long to get up to speed on what's important and I think they're really happy it got him I'm excited decided. Not a NASCAR guy either but I watch for is again. Yes I mean I he's my guy so violent I watch for march or so it's it's pretty fun I was talking and his wife Robin about it years cocoa marks you know you cities neck deep in. NASCAR Sprint Cup now and I think I know why it appeals to him two reasons number one it is very competitive. He's very competitive. Number two it's very technical and analytical I mean it's a lot of it is science engineering and got announced that speaks that speaks deeply that is a whole you know because that's a white was a good football players competitive. And he was a great safety because you know the nuts and bolts of the defense were Hughes and and and that was his strong points when he played for so long being the great athlete that he likes and I've seen them. He wasn't their again there's that I laugh that it has you know. He was there because he made everybody else better because they were always in the right spot in it it really speaks to Lebanese perfect. You know that he's perfect spot form worries that. Love to hear from you the phone lines open 8030550. Tool free 1888550. To 550 or via Twitter we're talking about. The Tyrod Taylor decision we are about oh week out from the com mine now actually in six days will be at the NFL scouting combine. And stuffs gotta start happening soon including tyrants steal the bills about two weeks out from the deadline to make a decision. They have some cap room obviously they don't pick up tyrants. Contract option they'll have more cap room but they're not handcuffed by the camp anyway and if you look at the numbers were where the bills are the salary cap right now. Compared to some weather AFC east division. Rivals are OK you know and again the tyra decision. Impacts everything whether or not they pick it up or whether that even a negotiated down. Spot trek dot com in their salary cap. Space rankings the right now anyway in this could change over the next week or so the bills 25 in the league with about 26 million in salary cap space rate now. Com. Patriots have 62 point nine in a lot. Dolphins have 42 point four million of cap space. Jets under three million in cap space now that's and that changes that'll change before next week that's amazing to the the patriots win the world championship and got 63 million dollars in cap space coming up this season. To help them repeat. They pay of men and Brady really they don't. They don't wanna pay. Chris Hogan and they don't sources like five or over five times more than we make with the Buffalo Bills they pay. Their salary structure is so such that. You know they've got to. Appears starts you know with the number one person on their roster in the ranking through 53. And that would be the backup tight into the back up safety of the backup. A running back you fall somewhere in the hierarchy that roster you can bet that the first down their rosters user quarterback. And everything falls in line behind them once they just don't pay anybody outside that. Envelope. And it serves them well obviously. So there is cap space for the bills. That will be in his state of flux I believe over the next week and so as we approach free agency the league year starts a week from today two weeks from today. March 9 so they all have to be. Under the cap by them but just get the feeling their a lot of moves. To be made by the way were going to be there at the scouting combine in pick up on whatever the news is both about the prospects get ready for the draft. And about the bills and other teams in the NFL including net. An appearance via the head coach John McDermott the show on the road myself and Dow Jones. Live from Indianapolis will be there next Wednesday march 1 and broadcast from the scouting combine. Noon to three next Wednesday Thursday and Friday to render the competency. As a player arm no.
